I'm sooo excited - my first coral shipment

Just got my first coral shipment ever. Floating in tank right now. Can't wait to pop them open and check them out. From Extreme Corals.

Got a red coco worm and 100+ group of Blastomussa (same ones fraggle sells as - Rare PPE Merletti Frags). They threw in some snails and a baby ORA clam. Clam's gotta go. I don't have the lights for it. Was really hoping for a zoa frag but never look a gift horse in the mouth.

Now if I get to pick up my frag of green zoas and the purple tongas I should be happy (for awhile anyway).

Will post pictures soon.

I'm in Urbandale. Dripping right now. Have no idea what color it is. Will it open even partially under my PCs (2x24w)?

You guys really want to see pictures of a bucket? I'm trying to be good and do this slow and easy. My husband would have heart failure if I killed everything trying to rush. Unlike most of you who care about the quality all my hub thinks is how many $ signs.

Blasto isn't as many heads as I thought. But still good sized. Much better than a small frag. Coco was alive when started drip. Clam is maybe 1x2.

How cute 1x2" clam....... I might be interested in the clam if you didn't live so far away from Riverside :( If you want to check out the new casino, bring that little clam with you!

Okay, downloaded some pics. Here are first few:

Now, excuse me while I go rearrange my 12g to fit this in nicely. Poor Pig (black clown) thinks its water change day. Is all upset. He really hated the floating. More pics to follow.

Does anyone know if the clam will open at all under PCs? Would at least like to see the color before he goes bye bye.

Everything's in. Coco not out yet, but the clam opened already. Looks to be purple. Too bad I can't keep, he is cute. Blasto just opening up.

I will be happy to bring to swap if I can figure out how to frag it in time. Have to do some research. I have no idea what healing time entails.

What kind of size do people look for at swap? Fraggle does it by the polyp. That stinks considering each head is pencil eraser size. Would get lost even in my 12g.

Step by step Fragging:

1. Make sure it gets nice and comfortable in your tank first. Don't want to do it to soon before it gets adjusted.

2. Take a dremel and cut off a chunk. However big you want.

3. Healing time shouldn't be too long. Maybe a week or two at the most I would think.

4. PM me and let me know when I can pick it up! :D

Seriously though it's not really that hard to do.

FYI clams that small should really be feed phytoplankton until they get to be 2.5"

This is VERY true!!! It should be placed on a small tile or in a small container that can easily be moved to a remote feeding station. For feeding, they should be placed into 1 cup of water tinted to a light green. The clam should be allowed to feed in this solution for 15 mins or until the water clears. This should be done a minimum of every other day.

With your coco worm in the tank you may just want to feed the tank.

I already feed DTs Premium Reef Blend but did not realize that the baby needed its own box. I'll try it tomorrow. Nothing like keeping the babies happy.

Coco came out and has two heads. Neat. Post pic tomorrow.

Baby seemed happier when I fed the tank frozen cyclopeeze. He opened way up with a huge mouth.

Coco finally open:
