I'm trying to put some LED info into the lighting section of SETTING UP

It's not there yet.
All I know is that I use one, and I use their pre-programmed schedule, so I'm not the fount of all knowledge on LEDs. My own research said that a Radion Pro could be effective all the way to the bottom of a 30" tall tank, and it does seem to be. The colors are pretty, and I love them changing throughout the day. So do the critters, apparently. They make themselves scarcer during the brightest light, unless I walk by (they expect food, then) but are out and about in the slightly dimmer light. The corals seem to like it. (LPS euphyllia, and an acan) Ok. That's what I know.

I have been using Maxspect razors for about 2 years or so and I like them. I have some softies, LPS, SPS and gorgonians. The one thing I can't emphasize enough is to start low and slooowly work the intensity up.

Ive noticed that with the new wide angle lenses being offered less lights per tank are required but the drop off in usable light at the end of these lenses is appreciable. So unless you dont plan on having corals all over it seems that the lenses may be a waste and the second light may be a better option.

Corals do jockey for position, though, slowly, and different types can succeed in other light zones. I've got a wedge-bow so tall I have to use a ladder, but only 30" wide, so I arranged my rocks in a lacy pyramid that gives me a lot of levels, and midway seems to make the ones I have happy. I could see corals like bubble (a lower light stony) and maybe fox doing pretty well lower than they are, and maybe work up to some sps branching montiporas and pocilloporas on the upper tiers. This is all new to me, but i'm b'guessing and b'goshing my way through this thing and judging by coral expansion and color.
