[IMG / MOV] First half of the package

I just got my first shipment of liverock from Tampa yesterday. I was up pretty late getting the critters acclimated, getting rock in place, and dealing with a million other loose ends.

Here you can see how the rock was packaged, quadrupled bagged in some thick PVC plastic.

If you look closely you can see two sea cucumbers in this photo.

First casualty. It's a slipper lobster. He was hiding in the bag of sand and got dumped right into the tank. Without being acclimated to the water the shock was too much. He bolted across the tank, flipped over, twitched for a bit, and died.

A full shot of the tank. Since the creatures are still getting used to the new environment I'm keeping the lights pretty dim. There's just one fluorescent actinic light on in this photo.

Thanks Richard! Better photos to come when I get my other camera home.

Sweet! Poor slipper, bummer. Mine did the same thing, but managed to overcome the shock. Now he even comes out during the day. Good score on pt 1. Just wait...part 2 is a like having Christmas AT the carnival.
