Imperator Angel Diet - Noori, LRS, Beef, AND CHICKEN!

I have had my Imperator Angel in my 125G for about a year and a half now. He adapted nicely and started on Angelixir soaked Hakari Pellets with Sponge additive.

Well he has gone from 2.5" to about 4" and has retained his Juvi coloration. I am considering long term effects.

I have fed quite a diverse diet, LRS, Noori and table foods. My Duncans love shredding the fish do on the chicken pieces especially. All the fish are eager for chicken! My Lawnmower Blenny especially - he is fat as hell!

Also my Duncans, Leathers, and Zoos also love chicken more than reef roids and salmon bits. I feed no more than a finger tip at once, and it is shredded (and cooked of course) for easy eating.

Anyone else feeding chicken?!

I'm going to have to discourage feeding anything besides the food that is prepared for our fish and Nori. Chicken is not part of their natural diet and even if they like it, it might not be healthy for any of your fish or coral in the long run.

Please refrain from continuing this practice.

Only to myself.

+1

This applies even more to the horrendously stupid practice of feeding reef fish garlic.

Interestingly the probable volume of hormones in the table food has not accelerated nor stunted their growth. But yes I hear you it is not their natural food. Even if they love it whether or not it has been soaked.

Any other thoughts?

When I say that it is not part of their natural diet, I'm implying that the fish might not have all of the proper digestive enzymes to metabolize the proteins in the chicken and beef. It's like feeding a great white salad for its entire life. Eventually, the shark would get sick because it's not getting the right nutrients. The same principle applies to your fish and their chicken/beef diet. It is for this reason that I ask that you stop feeding table food.
