I want to get an Imperor Angel for my 380 gal. I am reading as much as possible before I buy to prepare myself. I was wondering what everyone is feeding thiers. I have read that they like sponges in thier diet. Is there any "store bought" food that has sponges in it? Any other help on the care of the Imperor angel would be great also.
thanks.

Variety is key for most of the pomacanthus angels. There are commercially available sponge based formulas. I've had great results with Hikari Mega Marine Angel.
Also; nori, pellets, mysis, minced clam, mussell, plankton, Marine Cuisine, Emerald Entree'. Mine also eats some flake and bloodworms on occasion. Keep water quality high. Have lots of live rock for grazing/shelter. Try to purchase a specimen in the 3-5 inch range. They are good candidates for captivity. Avoid large adults or tiny juveniles that often don't acclimate well. hth

I feed my Imperator (and all the other fish in the tank) Spectrum pellets, krill, ON frozen foods (sponge, herbivore), table shrimp, silversides, nori and clam.

IME pristine water quality is a must. They are prone to HLLE and do not tolerate high nitrates well.

Yea I was reading about the HLLE and read it has a lot to do with feeding. I was just trying to get everything lined up before I buy.
Thanks for the replys
