Yesterday, Tunze Aquarientechnik GmbH bought a 50% share of Marine International LLC which was the company I founded 6 years ago to import and distribute Tunze under a simple handshake agreement. The new company is now officially known as Tunze USA and we will begin some product manufacturing in the US. I have a lot more responsibility to the parent company now as the Managing Member of Tunze USA LLC. As a result of this I will have to limit my time here. I will not be going away, but it may take longer to get an answer. I have many more responsibilities with regard to product development and testing.

I know many of you have had some dissappointing experiences lately with our products and product availability and we have made tremendous strides in the past few weeks and many more improvements will be made. Tunze is a 48 year old company and it is as the saying goes regarding teaching an old dog new tricks. We are working very hard to solve the problems and we do have many solved as of the past couple weeks and it will just take time to finish the implementation. This corporate marriage should eventually result in better product supply and more consistent service.

Just to give a few examples of what was accomplished last week alone-

New rotor sleeve for all Tunze Turbelle pumps- the new material is the strongest plastic available and the warp rotor sleeves that happened extensively last month will never recur. The new material is the best available and is impervious to acid, heat up to 300C and is highly impact resistant.

New Nano Stream clamp is in development, we have a rough design and it should be implemented in the next few months and is compatible with the existing magnet holder. The broken tabs while much less of an issue than before will now be impossible.

Improved quality control procedures, we have added many more testing procedures to existing product lines to ensure a high quality standard.

Anyway, in the next few weeks I will be posting several FAQ's and try to come up with a schedule of when you may reach me quickly on line. Thanks for your continued support!

Wow, exciting news! Congradulations on the step up. Your help in this forum has been valuable to everyone and certainly impacted Tunze's presence in the U.S. I hope that under your direction things continue to improve for the general hobbiest and for Tunze.

Congrats Roger. Looking forward to seeing what Tunze has in store for all of us in the future. :)

Way to go Roger!! Hope all works out well for you. You've been a great asset to ReefCentral, glad to hear you're not disappearing permanently though!!

P.S.- My 6025's are working awesomely, all the corals are sooooo happy!!!

We will be hiring one person but I already have a couple candidates and they would need to live in the area as I need another jack of all trades who can pack orders, do repairs, answer emails and phone calls and do bookkeeping. Basically, I need a clone and I have a couple people in mind.

Congrats! Well you just answered my question perfectly.

One of the reasons for your success is the second to none CS, most noticeably the fast response time. I hope that tradition continues and I was thinking you would need a clone to make that happen:)

I hope having manufacturing capacity on both side of the ocean will bring more flexibility and allow better adjustment to overall market conditions. I certainly don't know the situation at Tunze and am sure your expansion has to do with your good work, but I was talking to some European vendors lately when the US dollars became weak against the Euro, I learned from some of them that the ones having more diversified distribution and manufacturing channels seemed to handle things quite well.
