In need of a hospital tank setup

Like the title says i need to get a hospital tank setup quick and get my fish into hypo before i lose any more. If anybody has something like a 75 that would work as a temp hospital tank it would be a huge life saver literally. If i lose the fish that are left i'm thinking of scrapping the whole system and getting out.

Sorry to hear that man. I am down to 1 fish from 15. I brought home a new fish and didn't QT it. I learned my lesson big time.

I'm not sure, Hey Eric if you have time is there a chance you could swing by and see if you can figure out what is going on. Half my fish are gone and about the same deal with the corals. The only corals doing well are the LPS and the Orange Cap i got from Mike. All my stags are gone and my pocci is losing tissue as we speak. Makes me sick to even go downstairs anymore.

My best guess is the Achilles brought in something and its wiping out everything. Why the corals are going is a mystery.

I think it may be they suppliers. I have had the same problem. I have not been able to keep a fish alive that I have bought recently. My tank is doing great and the fish I have bought off fellow club members are living just cant keep one from a store alive. Not sure whats going on. Mark if you need anything let me know. If you need me to house the corals I will. Let me know Ben

Right now i'm worried about the fish. Everything but the stags are doing ok. The froggy and the hammer are ok and so is the torch. The monti cap seems to be fine. All these are in the display. But what is weird is there is a green stag frag of something i got from TJ that is doing fine along with a blue digi i got from Disco. Also the black barrel sponge i got from Kreeger is doing well in the frag tank as are the sky blue zoas i got from TJ. Its strange its all the same system yet the stag in the frag tank looks great and all the rest are dead or dieing.

i have got a 65 tall tank in the basement , it has the center brace out of it , it was a sump that i got with my big tank , your more than welcome to use it as long as you need it Mark

Murph

With the center brace out i'd be afraid to fill it all the way. With the size of fish i have i will need all the space i can get. I have a line on a 90 and 75 combo. Only problem there is i will need to see if i can drill the 90 or find an overflow. I have a skimmer that will work and a new heater. I'm making water right now so i will be ready asap. Thanks for the offer Murph!

not a problem , wish i had something for ya Mark
you can use it if you need it for any kind of storage ,

Just make a temp brace with 2x4's nothing fancy l___________l like a very wide c-channel. Just an idea and i'm pulling for you mark, sorry for your loses.

I have added two fish since Febuary. I bought a algea blenny and a powder blue tang. The algea blenny went missing before I added the powder blue tang. The powder blue was acclimated for 8 hours before I put it in the display tank. It looked perfect at the store, it was eating and there were no signs of disease. The PBT started eating on the second day. On the third or fourth day the fish was dead. I started to notice my other tangs were getting cloudy eyes and patches of white mostly under their mouths and on their bodies. Then all of my other fish started to have the same symptoms. It spread like wildfire and now I am watch my last fish die because I can't catch it..

Some of the local stores seem to turn over their stocks very quickly. Under those circumstances, I think really sick fish don't have sufficient time to develop symptoms so they appear to look healthy. Aside from the usual parasitic suspects, I think pathogens can decimate a system with little recourse, especially if its viral.

Marc, I suspect some of your coral issues are indirectly related to your fish problem. It sounds like the less tolerant SPS varieties have been the first to go which is probably due to the diminished water quality as the fish die.

I think the course of action you are going with is probably the best. Get the fish out and let things stabilize. I have a 100g rubbermaid tub you are welcome to use.

Thank you everyone for all the offers. I hauled home a 90 with a wet\dry filter and hope to get it rinsed out and filled wednesday after work. I was planning on filling it with fresh SW and if anyone close by is doing a water change on a healthy system maybe i could snag a couple buckets of aged water to help with the biological. I don't want to use any water from my display. If this is a possibility please shoot me a pm and i will be by to grab it. Thanks again to all who have offered help, its what makes this hobby and club a great experience even when things go sideways.

Haven't been on here at all lately sucks i didnt' see this earlier. if you need any thing let me know. I'd be happy to pull some water out of my system if you need it.
