In need of one or two power inverters

Doing a truck or treat at my church on friday night and need to run my fog machine and lights in the parking lot. Anyone out in west county have a couple power inverters I could use for the night?

Thanks in advance

Whoa

If that is a heat driven smoke machine you are going to need one humongous inverter. I have a couple, one will run 60 watts and the other will do 100 watts.

I also have a few (hundred) extension cords if that will help. One is a 100+ foot piece of 14 gage romex.

I am doing dinner with Deon tomorrow but will be home late if you need some help.

Look on hte box or the back of the fogger. It should have an power or amp rating on it. I have a medium/small one and it draws 700Watts.

Okay since I dont understand any of this here is what is on the back

120 VAC 60 HZ 400W
Fuse 125VAC/4A

Make sense?

You will need at the very minimum a 500 watt inverter. And that will really stress the thing (get it hot). Inverters are typically rated for continuous and surge. FOr example my little cigarette lighter version is rated at 60 watts continuous or 75Watts for 5 minutes.

Since your fogger uses 400 watts when the heater is running I would suggest trying to double the load required so the thing does not have to get too hot to keep up. Here is an example of one at Buy.com

or Walymart

It will most likely require the car to be running as well.

I just picked up a Fog Machine, probably the same one, curious are you using Fog Juice in it? I tried RO/DI water and that did not work.

I have a 5000w generator I would let one of you guys use. Its a bit overkill, but I just don't run it enough. You would have to pick it up in Edwardsville.
