In tank skimmer?

Well which is best the tunze 9001 or the aquamaxx NF-1?
Any strong opinions either way?

I've seen some youtube videos showing how great the tunze is (although the skimmate looks more like tea than sludge..)

But it seems there's not much on the aquamaxx? Anyone have experience or feel strongly ?

I had a Tunze 9001 and was not impressed. Those little skimmers like that just don't do a great job though there are many I haven't tried. After trying the Tunze and one or two others, I got an Aquamaxx HOB 1 and never looked back. It's not in tank, but man, it was a beast in my IM Nuvo 38 AIO.

FWIW I have a AquaticLife 115 Internal Protein Skimmer and have been very impressed, especially for the price.

I pulled the trigger on the tunze. It seems to be doing pretty great honestly. I've got a decent amount of "tea colored" water, but also a lot of scum that build on the lid and the sides. With cleaning it every few days to a week I am removing A LOT of grossness.

I especially like the way it fits in the built in chambers of the nanocube. I'm able to run it in the center, heater in the first chamber and ato works in my pump chamber. my ato is topping off a quart at a time so i'm getting very minimal fluctuations in my water.
