In Wall 400g DT (600g+ System)

The Calcium Reactor is up and running with the CO2, the effluent is at a drip rate of 50ML's per minute and the CO2 Bubble count is 1 bubble per three seconds. The initial Parameters for the Tank are 9.4DKH and CA is at 400ppm, good thing is that the CA Reactor will increase both of these equally.

I left the CO2 work at this rate right now, will test again after 24 hours of dripping and correct from there.

I recently went through an ich outbreak in my system. Fortunately I do not have any corals yet, so I took the system to hyposalinity levels. I took a 75 gallon offline and moved 150-200lbs of live rock into it. It sat fallow for 3 months. Right now my system appears ich free. I'm getting ready for another hypo treatment in my QT tank, since it appears I have an angel showing signs of ich.

Haffs, just posted over your thread, impressive build congrats.
I will go the same route but with Seachem Cupramine, for my EEL I will go with Hypo treatment, I will leave the tank fallow for no less than 8 weeks so hopefully the parasite cycle will be terminated during that period.

Thanks for stopping by.

What a great project! Watching builds like this are truly inspiring. Good luck. I will be tagging along on this thread.

Thank you bmorecopper! glad to have you along :)

awesome build ! I liked how you mentioned early in the thread your wife put her foot down on putting a big tank in your home, so you built a new building !! Way to go !!

Here the latest update (With Pictures):

Fishroom:
As mentioned before, I modified a little my fishroom as I needed more space for storage, better arrangement and most important to place QT tanks so I can bring more amount of fish for filling the DT quicker:

This is a quick view of how the wall looks now, bigger and sturdy shelf basically cover it (Really considering painting it all white so it can match with the whole room):

and NOW:

I can hold on this rack 5 to 6, 25 Gallon tanks:

And on this one the 50 Gal QT Tank in case I bring in bigger fish:

The water depot fitted perfectly underneath:

This the Top shelf where I got plastic boxes to sort out everything better (Test kits, supplements, spares, etc):
DSC_6208.jpg

Below the QT line I got my work bench, when I seat on my stool I'm in perfect height and space to work doing water testing or whatever I need to do here:
DSC_6206.jpg

And the lowest line is to place bulk things, as salt or bigger boxes to hold other stuff, even underneath this line I got my ladder which I use to go into the tank for maintenance:
DSC_6207.jpg

Installed the fan on the ceiling which is blowing air onto the AI lights, as I have them mounted to close to the ceiling one of them was turning off due to heat and lack of ventilation, now the problem is corrected:

And a full shot of the fishroom, yes, the moving space within here is reduced, I got 1mts between tank and shelf but hey, who needs moving space instead of more tanks?! :)
DSC_6210.jpg

Just pending over the QT tanks a rail which I will use to slide LED lights over each QT, in case I need to remove or add fish even acclimate without light I will just slide it off.

Also, Will install a light on my working line so I can see what I'm doing without turning the fishroom's lights and stress the fish during night.

Mainfold:
Here is finally my manifold pictures, as of today I installed my Carbon Reactor and working great.

Here is the final product once assembled and glued, it can manage up to three reactors:

Here is already installed and with the first Vertex UF-20 with carbon:

Clear tubing used so I can see no bubble or debris going into the reactors:

Here is the new toys,

I Bought one Acclimate XL / Fish Trap box, but Premium sent two, now I need to check my billing statement, at least I know I can sell one locally.

2,000 ML's of Vertex Pro Bio Pellets:

And the two new Vertex UF-20 Reactors to hold these pellets:
DSC_6214.jpg

unboxing one of the reactors, as always Vertex is top notch quality, even packaging is great:
DSC_6221.jpg

For my reactors I modified the in/out connections, I take them from 1/2" to 1" as this is the size of the manifold outputs:

The end result:

Output:

And the finished product:

I modified the way the manufacturer suggest placing the inner strainer and sponges, last time I had my reactor filled in with these pellets, somehow the lower sponge got loose and pushed all of these on to the top, making them go bad, so now I lowered the strainer to the bottom and below this, the sponge, now the pellets won't suffer the same fate, on top I will place the other sponge which will stay there due to water flow:

Here are 1,000 Ml's of Pellets in the reactor:
DSC_6233.jpg

DSC_6231.jpg

Filled the chamber with RO/DI water as it needs to stay like that 24 hours prior of using them in the tank:
DSC_6236.jpg

And here both reactors ready to be connected tomorrow:
DSC_6237.jpg

What I find strange was that the two 500 ML's bags they sent, (Right Reactor) the media is really small, but in the 1,000 ML bag (Left Reactor) the media is larger, at the end both covered the same space:

Looks good Juan !

I think you can open a fish store called of course "The Fish Whisperer." :D

Are you using Aqua Clears on all the QT tanks ? I just redid mine by taking out the live rock/sand in the small return section in my sump. I'll replace it with. Hydro sponge per Lee Birches recommendation. PetSolutions has a sale going on and I stocked my fish medicine cabinet also. I want to get everything ready for those black ice clowns. ;)

Thanks for detailing your reef build (and home addition) with us Juan. It's always nice to see how each person approaches the task of a big build. Yours is very well thought out. I look forward to updates on your progression.

Thanks Jim :)

Yes, I'm planning on using the Aqua 20 on all 25's and I already have Aqua 70 on the 50, at the end is just for water filtering and movement.

Can you please send me the list of medications you bought?, I want to do the same, thanks in advance.

I will look into sales at their site.

BTW, I was looking at the Hydro Sponges, they look nice and much easier to clean than the sand IMHO. :)

Thanks you very much for the encouraging words Walt, nice to have you along :)
