What a great idea, an outdoor tank it looks really great. How do you keep the temperature down in the summer months?
It is a really nice project you have going, I''m looking forward to seeing what you will put in next

In my country we just had summer time and now entering rainy season, good thing about here is that temperature doesn't pass up the 85 degrees and 65 degrees, it's really stable, with this I just use the four fans and open or close the fishroom door and window, that's it, as of the moment I haven't needed the heaters or chiller to correct temperature and the tank remains at 78F - 79F, it's what I like to call Nature's own way of dealing with my tank LOL

Great setup and amazing build! I love your rock stack. I have two MP60's in my tank positioned similar to yours and all my tangs love it. Sometimes they swim into the current and other times they'll catch a wave and ride it across the tank. Nice going!

As I had an Ich outbreak, lost one fish and other is under treatment at the LFS, I'm still not confident that the ones that are still within the DT are ok, or at least I know that the Ich is still there waiting for new victims to arrive, so have to make the tank fishless for at least 8 weeks and cut the Ich cycle.

I bought some tanks yesterday, still need to get another three 25 gals,

Also, today I'm removing the shelf and bench I had as I bought a new bigger shelf used in spare parts, it's 2 meters wide, 60 cm depth by 1.90mts tall, with this I will house all the QT's, products, workbench and much more in a more sturdier manner.

I noticed you use american products are they easy to get? Or alott of ordering on line which I bet can get expensive if using fed-ex or ups.

Thanks RPJaws, I order everything from the US to a PO Box I got in Miami, FL, the freight cargo company has good tariffs as we import a lot from there, taxes are not as high as expected for some products.

Also, as I get free shipping over orders $ 175 in most online stores, the price I get placed on the PO Box is good.

At the end I tend to pay 10% more plus local Tax which is 12% placed at my fishroom

Nice build, and brave. I'm not sure if I would have any portion of my tank exposed to the outdoors, but the whole build is fantastic and well designed.

Thanks Othercents, the tank is holding great as of today, (Almost three months) no issues with temperature, even I made some foams in case the weather gets too cold,

It helps avoid cold weather get transferred to the DT through the glass, my temp keeps always between 78F - 79F, also I think my country's weather helps a lot as we don't have Tough summers (It doesn't go beyond 90F) and we don't have too much cold, it doesn't even snow here (Temps doesn't go below 65F).

Some weekend updates with the tank,

1. I removed the Shelf and Workbench, placed a bigger Shelf and now I can hold 5, 25 Gal QT's as well as the 50 Gal, I will take pics of it tomorrow once it's all done.
2. I had a design problem with the sump, the first baffle was too high and it was causing microubbles in the return chamber, second, my water level was too high and in case of a power outage the sump wouldn't hold all the water from the system, so I tried removing the silicon from both sides of this baffle to be able to remove it, no luck, it was very well glued, so next step, I took a hammer..... yes I broke the baffle under water, after one hour of working on removing all pieces attached to the glass, ten cuts on my hand and removing all pieces within the sump I finally have it clear, water is now running lower and no microbubbles in the DT, even just using two baffles.
3. Thoroughly cleaned the Sump, wow it was full of waste, I scrubbed and removed water.
4. Made major water change now using KENT SALTS, tested the batch and nice parameters.
5. Connected my Calcium Reactor, haven't fired up the CO2 as I'm just looking at the effluent drop ML's to calibrate it, I will do this and leave it 24 hours just to be sure the same drip rate hold for that time.
6. Re arranged all sump wiring and outlets connections, happy with the results.

Well, I think lots was done in three days and today hasn't ended LOL.

Great build. I really enjoyed watching all the videos. You must have some really nice friends considering how heavy that tank must have been . I'm sure the crane made a huge difference. I am anxious to see what you think of the RO skimmer. I am thinking of getting one for my 240g soon.

I love my SRO Octopus, would definitely recommend one, good quality parts, easy setup and they do a great job, also, the price ain't too expensive compared to similar products.

I maybe go with a bigger version (XP-8000 Ext) but always within the same brand.
