increasing magnesium

i was wondering how to increase magnesium i havent tested for it yet but im going to soon.i noticed a thread that said something about epsum.were they talking about epsum salt?what should i use and how much safely.thank you very much.

Kent Tech-M... www.premiumaquatics.com sells it by the gallon for $18.99 i think the shipping is $6.99. its alot easier than making your own and will have less impurities also.
if you still want to DIY Mg, goto: Reef Chemistry forum, under "reef chemistry articles" by Randy Holmes-Farley.

And once you know what your mag level is at, don't try to raise it by more then a 100 each day.

Also when you are testing/increasing your mag, make sure to keep in eye on your alk/cal levels.

Agreed except that the commercial stuff will have fewer impurities than the home-made--most likely we are all using literally the same raw materials.

www.twopartsolution.com... look under magnesium products. Its much better than any of the other stuff when you consider how much you have to add.

Otherwise, fauna-marin and KZ have magnesium based media that you can add to your calcium reactor to boost Mg levels. This is perhaps the best method overall.
