So i now consider myself one of the very lucky few who have been able to free dive diego garcia (brittish indian ocean territories). it was part of a little good deal trip with the good ol' u.s navy. on the down side i didn't think we would even get all the way out there (our jets kinda like to take a crap half way through deployments) so i didn't bring the underwater casing for my camera oh well it was amazing. tons and i do mean tons of picasso (spelling?) tangs and spotted puffers. along with some of the most amazing coral i have ever seen. what i would have given to be able to catch or harvest these amazing creatures. i'm just bewildered by the amount of sea life there. i've been to akumal/ cozumel mexico, key west, aruba, and bonaire and they don't even come close to comparrison. but come to think of it even if i did catch/ harvest anything i would have been able to get it back to tinker a.f.b as the next cargo/ mail flight by the air force wasn't to even show up for another week. then god knows how long it would be in travel. and the water clarity was nothing shy of amazing. i suppose its because its a small island 1000 miles from anything. sharks were however quite an issue... lol apparently theres alot in the indian ocean. i did get some pictures of the island and a video of the landing if anyones interested i'll see if i can upload them. anyone else been to the region?
