Anyone has any of the sandbed clams from Indo Pacific Sea Farms?

Do you have any experience to share? Anyone has pictures of these animals as a reference?

Thank you.

Charles

I will admit to it, I got the $99 special. I really do not remember why I asked for the clams, anyway, all died within a couple weeks. don't waste you time/ money. the snails did very well, and I now have hundreds!!!!

Same experience here. Bought some too. Mine lasted for awhile though. I had a big amonia spike and I think thats what killed mine off. There very small and bury themselves in the sand and just stick a siphon out to filter the water.

Thank you all for the information. The other day I went to the local beach at Venice Beach, Los Angeles and found similar clams
and I wonder if these are the same sand bed clams?

From the description that Charlie indicated and I think they're probably the same type but from different region ?!?

I have some local clams in my "Chesapeake bay" tank , they seem to be doing ok. not much on looks but I like them! You do need to watch critters such like these in small tanks, because when they die, they pollute the tank quickly! If you do not have alot to lose- I say go for it ! If you think they may benifit the tank- I doubt it!

Auger, I did the same thing once, got some from the beach here. They lasted for a while until some of the crabs and fish found them and started eating them. They looked real close to the same ones as IPSF sells. I think the only difference is that the ones we get from our beaches are in colder water and live in more of a mud vice sand. IPSF clams are in warmer water, hawaiian waters.
Charlie, my amonia problem was from a water change, not the clams. Long story but I used some NSW that I had grown some pods in, amoina was way high and I didn't check it until AFTER I did the water change. Found it and threw out the NSW I had left and went and got more NSW to do a massive change. Unfortunatly, the damage was already done. Luckly, I only lost my sand bed critters and some sponges, all of the corals and fish made it.

i put some in my tank off the 9 for 99$ they went into the sand and i never really saw them again. When i broke the tank down i didnt found any of their remains.
