info needed quick

I got two new perculas today and I acclimated them for a half hour before putting them in the tank, doing great for 20 minutes and now I see that they jerk real quick every 4 min or so, is this normal

Are they jerking while next to each other? If so, it is completly normal.

ditto what tomrep said. Clowns have pretty strange behaviors and i'd expect to see many more "odd" things from them.

Any idea why they do that

also I wanted to ask, I was told by the lfs that one of them that was a true purcula which was $29.99 and the other was a reguler percula $14.99, anyone know what is the difference? and why difference in price

They are different species, but they can interbreed. There is some good information on the two in the clownfish/anenome forum in the sticky's.

ya check out the clown forum (a bit lower than this beginners one) and you'll more than likely see pics comparing the 2. But the most common difference is that the true percula clowns have darker/black bands in between the other stripes. Where ocellaris (false percs) are all orange with white stripes. Another difference can be the eyes...i believe falses usually have all black eyes.

And they do the jerking thing to establish "love"! lol It is all part of their ritual for who is male/female and probably to be sure it is really their mate and not some other fish in the sea that looks like their mate. Glad to make your night! I sure did have a lousy one..
