injuried clown

I just noticed that one of my clowns has a very small cut . Is it something I should worry about? Is there something I should do? Or just watch it? He's eating and swimming fine.

It really depends on how bad the cut is, the overall health of the clown, and how good the water parameters are (( to limit stress induced secondary infections ))

To make you feel better, about a month ago my male Clarkii tried to boss my purple tang around. He ended up with a nice cut for his troubles (( was deep enough that it the white of his stripe was gone, and it was red )). Two days later it was all healed up and couldn't even see a make. I actually was watching the tank when he got cut.

It looks like a fresh cut not red like infected. It's not a huge gapping cut. In comparison if a human had a cut like it it would not need stitches. Does that make any sense?

Not sure if you were posting when I was, but that sounds pretty much like how my Clarkii looked.

My male Black O survived this gash if that makes you feel any better.. How big is your cut by comparison? Just keep an eye on it. I'd have antibiotics on hand (furan2 is good) just in case. You could QT and treat if necessary.

wow, it's nothing like that. It's just a small cut on it's side not all the way through. It looks better tonight.

emo fish... kidding aside most i would do if really worried add a little bit of garlic to their meal just once but other than that just leave it alone

What happened? Did you try to eat her but she got away?

HER? That's obviously a male clownfish! :) I don't really know what happened. He used to chase my Blue Tang pretty bad so maybe that's who did it. I also have a gorilla crab that is a couple inches wide. I think the Tang did it. He recovered fully though. If you could see him when he was sideways you could see right through him.
