Innovative Marine Nuvo nano 24 Gallon. yes or no

Currently have a 180 gal system but since my moorish Idol past away after 4+ years, I am very down and sad. Do not want to maintain such a large tank anymore and wanting to downgrade to a AIO nano again. Thinking of the Nuvo nano 24 because of its length. Reason I choose this is because of the 36" in length. But heard that the glass is too thin and it might break. Lately saw two reviews that I replace the old thin glass with some thicker ones. What do you guys think?

The new thicker ones look good and sturdy by I would make sure to inspect it at a lfs first and I wouldn't suggest buying it from a online retailer because of shipping risk and they may have back stock of the older less sturdy model.

And in all honesty I would go with the Nuvo fusion 30 it about the same size and has a lot better build quality. It also comes with a mesh screen lid already to so that a plus

The dimensions of the 24 gallon are awesome. But I would be concerned about the glass breaking, the 24's are the ones that break the most.

Also just like you I downgraded my 125 to a NUVO 16 after several years... Never been happier. Electric bill is way down. I am able to keep much better parameters due to the fact the I am more motivated to change the water since it only takes 15 minutes.

I say go for it

I had Nanos before, I understand the ease of taking care of it. But my main concern is the quality of the Nuvo 24. I love the size but don't want my corals on the floor

Don't get it then, go with something else. Tank choice is not easy, but if a product is known to have issues, why even consider it? I would go a different direction.

I have a 24 (thicker glass) and love it but wonder every day if it is going to crack. The 30 is nice for sure but I would hold off a little bit to see how they hold up. I know there have been some 30 buyers that have already experienced minor design issues. I think the new 20 along with the 30 will be good tanks since they don't have the bent glass corners.

If you ask me

If you ask me

I would say no. I bought a 38 gallon Nuvo two years ago, and it breached. I received a replacement via the warranty. The tank breached again. I am now out of the hobby. I have no confidence in Innovative Marine products.

I agree. Waaaaaaayyyy too many reports of cracks and water damage to homes for me to have ANY confidence in anything innovative marine puts out. All of their tanks are manufactured from chinese glass and assembled by chinese workers. Very poor quality. Also that tank stand is a joke made of fiberboard!!
