Many of you have wondered why the short supply and why the high price. Graeme Faulkner of Perth Aquarium in Australia did a photo documentary of the factory. He commented on how after seeing the construction process and the incredible amount of hand labor he felt the price was too cheap. I have felt the same way, it is really a pump that is made with care and has a very individual feel. I hope after seeing this slide show which is only a fraction of the process if you can image every thread is cut by hand and every wire is soldered in house it is a tremendous undertaking to make a 6100 Stream. Here you go :)

i think its a tribute to Tunze that they have decided quality is more important then just churning pumps out.

I know my first tunze skimmer seemed expensive until i got it and used the product. long long long time ago and the pump is still running today

Must be fun working for such a family company, too many companies are just interested in profit and numbers these days.

Ok off the soap box:)

Thanks Roger for the slide show and also for running this forum.

Good to see that some people still care about craftmanship.

BTW, you mite want to change the slide delay to 5 ..I went over the limit after 4 pictures and had to slow it down to see them all .

The customer service ain't bad either.
the customer service at tunze is awesome. compaired to deltec that also comes from germany. i'd wait a year for a tunze product just for the service. eric
