Just unpacked my new 6305 pumps and I really like exverything say 1; the size of the slats for intake. I have some gobies that already love to slide into the 6202 pumps when they are off for whatever reason to the point that I am making smaller snail screens but the intake slats on the new pumps are even larger. Has anyone come accross this issue and solved it? I really hate to modify such a $$ pump but it is either that, some other solution or return them and stick with the 6202s I already have.

The 6305 is built for large tanks with large fish. You could use the 6205 housings but the flow will be reduced. I would be willing to swap you out.

Thanks for the offer; I had gone with the 6305 because I have 4 6201s now and the tank flow is not sufficient in some areas. I'm not sure I want to down-grade.

(actually I have 4 6201s and 2 6055s).

You would probably lose about 1000-1500gph, it would still be more than a 6205. Unfortunately I don't have a better off the shelf option.

This would swap the entire housing? I ask because the back 1/2 is just as much an issue as the front 1/2.
