Intended fish purchase sticky closed

Since the sticky where we'd normally post "intended fish purchases" has been closed, I will start this new thread for some help on my possible fish purchases. Any feedback would be appreciated.

I have a small list going. I am not sold on any one type of fish nor quantity. If you could give me some feedback on these fish....like the good selection, bad selection, or the no way would i get that.

Also, could you give me some issues that I may run in to with the selected fish.

I have never had a saltwater tank and my tank is cycling as we speak. I'd like to get some fish now and place them in my QT. So when the DT is done cycling, the QT fish can move in.

I have a 135 gallon DT

Fish that have caught my eye:
Blue headed wrasse
Green coris wrasse
Red cord wrasse
Dartfish
Any Gobies that I should/shouldn't not get right now
Any Blennies I should/shouldn't get at the moment
Panda goby
Rainbow goby
Red fairy anthias

I would like to have soft corals and polyps at some point

That's my list for now......when I get more, I'll post them

Nothing is finalized so I welcome input on what I have so far. I've heard mixed opinions on whether 3 tangs is ok in a 125.

125 gallon 6ft tank.

1x powder blue tang
1x purple tang
1x yellow or powder brown tang

2x carpenters or McCoskers wrasse
2x leopard wrasse

1x flame hawkfish

1x yellow longnose butterfly

3-6x ocellaris clownfish

1x watchman goby
1x pistol shrimp

mostly snails for clean up

Fish from the same family tend and will in most cases be aggressive towards eachother. I have 2 blennys in my 150 one chases the other sometimes but tank is big enough so I don't have to worry (I hope). Stay away from mandarins until about a year. I just got my wives pair of green mandarin gobys ( i had to get her these in order for the tank to stay i agreed not knowing there diet).

Uhh some people will say u need a bigger tank for those tangs but tangs are great some if u really want tangs id probably get those 3 and thats it, The hawkfish might find ur pistol shrimp as lunch ( i could be wrong tho).If ur planning on getting corals i might re think the hawkfish and the butterfly.

Tangs with the same body shape usually wont get along so i would choose either the yellow or purple but not both, same with the powder tangs.

Also stick with 2 clowns per tank or eventually you will end up with 2 in the end anyway.

How about some cardinal's and/or anthasis?

As for cardinals, I heard that a max of two is all I should have. Once two pair up, it could be disastrous for ant other cardinals. I especially like the pj's. Those are still a thought though, not out of the question

3 tangs in a 125 is pushing it especially a purple and yellow, a single powder blue would work

As far clownfish go change that number to 2 and you're perfect.
Leopard wrasses don't even bother unless your tank is old or you have a fuge as big as your tank

Op unless you want one wrasse in your tank id ditch the green coris

Every time I've had one it gets big and chases every open water fish to death worse than 6-lines

Go with a yellow coris wrasse

If you're going to keep coral or clams ditch the butterfly

the colors, they are active, they look really good in big schools. I have tangs,wrasse, gramma, clownfish, blennys, mandarins and anthias. So far the anthias are my favorite ( the mandarins are sweet too). I recently had a algae bloom (turned on the uv was gone in 24 hours) and I'm gonna blame it on over feeding hehehe i love watching the anthias eat.

Anthias are great they eat and do well one day then die the very next!

I had a school of lyretails 3 females and a male all of a sudden all 4 of them stopped eating and died about two days later I was so glad to see $100 go down the drain

Are the following fish good beginner fish:

powder brown surgeon fish
yellow tangs

should you have 1 goby per tank? regardless of species

The thread mentioned was closed because while I had been answering it for the last five years, had to go into the hospital for some rather extensive surgery. At the moment I am on the site a bit as I am recovering energy and endurance and as time goes by will try to resurrect that thread or comment on comparable threads.
