Interceptor Treatment - refresher

It's been years since I've had to do an Interceptor treatment on the tank, and I remember the basics but not specifics about saving my clean up crew. I know I need to pull out all the crabs I can get and I'll lose the pods. I've seen some people that say snails should be removed, but I don't know if I've seen anything definitive about those - and that leads to my question. Anybody know about chitons and cowries?

Also, at the time I last did this treatment it was recommended to do a second dose a week after the first. Is that still the right plan of attack?

Snails/Chitons/Cowries are fine. I treated my tank and all of those survived. Shrimp needs to be taken out if possible...couldnt take mine out, but it survived.

Hermits need to be taken out for sure. Most people treat 3 times to be sure.

I took out my Redbugs last year...but didnt notice any difference with them gone.

Maybe they arent as bad as we think...How are your SPS affected?

The original directions were to do 3 doses. Do a google search and you can find the whole write up. RC will block the link or I'd post it for you.

6 hours each time and then do a 25% water change and run carbon.

Space each dose 7 days apart.

People have bastardized/short cut some of this over time, but the original method was tested and proven.

Thanks guys. Not sure how bad the problem is... I can only see them on one piece that's close enough to the glass to use a magnifying glass. The others are too far away. The one I can see is not being overrun, but I can see the bugs. On all the acros, their polyps are visible but not really extended, coloration under normal lighting is faded to tan unless only under actinics. I'm not 100% sure that the bugs are causing the problem and I'm not scrambling to do this ASAP, but it's on my list for the near-term. I have interceptor on hand, so it's a fairly easy thing for me to do.
