Interested in Clam order?

Hi Tim!
If you are still going ahead with this, I would be interested. Looking forward to seeing what they post this weekend.
John

Can someone set one up for the cleveland people and one for the akron/hudson area. I would be willing to pay split the shipping with a few people as well I think others would be if it was cheaper then paying the shipping individually.

I guess that if there is still this much interest in the Akron/Hudson area that I wouldn't setting one up for that area. Wednesday from 3-6 would still be best. If you have any issues with that time I can set something up with you. Thanks, Tim

Maybe someone from cleveland would be willing to run to hudson and pick up the cleveland orders? I'd chip in for gas. its about 25 miles each way.

Once I see what is available, I might want something as well.

If I get something, I can pick up for Cleveland orders.

Just one more thing, could you also list a second favorite just incase your first choice is taken. That way we get the order placed faster. Thanks, Tim

The money we all spend on this hobby and people are *****ing about driving from cleveland to akron, I guess if you cant afford the gas, proably shouldnt buy the clam. but you will drive to vermillion, columbia station to by stuff. The only reason its not going smooth is people being difficult. You act like Akron is the moon.

no one has a problem going to Akron it just not worth the time and gas just to save on shipping my time is wort something to me so I am better off paying for shipping then wasting 2 + hour and the gas going to Akron when I can have the clam drooped at my door for not much more

That Electric one looks sweet

I used to live over there in crAkron. It's not the moon but mapquest shows it being 51.5 miles (1hr 5 mins) each way from my house to Hudson. Double that for the round trip and that is 103 miles. I get about 20 MPG and saw gas at $2.81 today. That's $14.42 plus 2 hrs 10 mins in the car. I wouldn't usually make the trip to Salty Critter unless I was buying more than a $25 item or was in the area already. We are almost all headed to the C-SEA meeting since this is, in fact, the C-SEA forums. I was not "being difficult". I was merely suggesting what might have been more logical for most of us.

Nobody is forcing anyone to do the group buy and we appreciate when someone puts the time into organizing things like this but it shouldn't be a terribly complicated thing. I wouldn't mind doing the club buy but I don't have the funds to make the purchase for everyone and then collect at the meeting. I think it was awesome of John to do the Atlantis order that way and I think most of us wouldn't want to put our money out there hoping that everyone shows up and pays us for their items.

Hope this goes well. I may still be interested if Tim can hold them until Friday for me. (Cleveland is an hour away for me too but I am headed there for the meeting on Friday.)

Kevin I will be able to bring your clam to the meeting. Just let me know what one(s) you want. Thanks, Tim

Tim,
I just went and looked and they have some VERY nice clams althought their prices are not as great as I thought they would be. I paid lots more for the clam I have from Salty Critter but I was thinking of putting together a road trip next month if anyone wants to head to Tropicorium in Michigan. They have some neat clams and they are all $29 each or 2 for $50. They have TONS of corals too. www.tropicorium.com for more info. If you want to go let's try to put something together at the meeting. I have a 7 passenger minivan and get about 20 MPG so we could all put in like $5 to fill the tank and maybe have some good conversation on the way there and back :)

Thanks for the offer but I will pass on this order since money is short at the moment.

Well, I would not like to hijack this thread and I also have to wait a couple weeks to have the money to purchase anything. It's gonna be a loooong couple weeks! I will start a new thread before getting the trip together. I just wanted to give some of the guys a heads up on how cheap they are there instead of them spending a bunch more on a mail-order one. You can see yours there and then bring it home that day if we go to the store.

Those are some of the clams from their site. I gave a link in the last post if you want to see some of their corals and fish prices too. I only have two clams but like them and would love a couple more.
