I took the plunge and bought an adolesent blue face angel to add to my 180g mixed reef.Qt for 2 months and he was eating all kinds of prepared food ...so put him into the display. There were a couple of things I was hoping he wouldn't eat ...especially an echinophylia(chalise).3 weeks went by and he was not bothering anything...I keep him well fed.
Saturday I noticed a spot starting on the chalise where some zoathids were touching.Pulled the chalise out ,rooted out the zoas.Cut a couple frags off the chalise while it was out, touched it up with super glue gel and put it back in.Later that day I noticed a largish spot(rtn) were I had cut one of the frags. The blue face was going crazy on the spot nipping it again and again...he was loving it!Pulled the chalise colony out and coated the rtn spot with superglue gel....the angel has not nipped it again. When I first did it (and put it back in the tank) he went right to it (and right to the spot).I could tell he wanted to nip it some more, but he didn"t and he still hasn't.The echino is healing.
