Interesting & colorful goby or blenny for 30 cube?

I have a 30 cube with no livestock as of yet. I know I want a Royal Gramma. I am looking for something else that has an interesting personality and lots of color. I would love a goby/shrimp pair but I have a barebottom tank and from what I have read these gobys require sand. I was thinking of a pair of clowns but I think I would rather have three different fish since three is my limit on a tank this size. Any suggestions?

how about a nice fairy wrasse...I have a lubbocks wrasse and the colors are amazing...most of the smaller ones will do fine in a 30G tank...

i say a klawshwitz blenny. i loved mine but he had an unfourtunate accident.

a pair of small gold stripe maroons would be nice in your tank. i would suggest getting the wrasse last if you did get one though. i have 3 different types of fish in my 30 with a pair of juvi gsm. It will work fine

Yellow watchman is a neat fish. They'll park at the glass and watch YOU if there's no other action going on.

Yellow clown gobies have tons of personality plus they stay small. It's really cool watching them perch on rocks and corals. Very cool little fish.

I would not recommend GSM for a 30g tank. They get quite aggressive as adults. My ocellaris are pretty scrappy in a 30g.

I second the midas blenny. Colorful, fun to watch.

Thanks for the ideas. I'm leaning toward the Yellow Clown Goby. We'll see. I have some time to let the tank mature before I add anything.

I had one once too. He was so cool to watch. Unfortunately after he ate all the algae he starved. He wouldn't eat anything else I offered him. I would hate for that to happen again.

Clown gobies are a ton of fun in a tiny package, that would be my choice. As a bonus, they're not much of a bioload :) Make sure you find one that's eating in the store; these guys are notorious for refusing to eat and wasting away.
I've got a yellow clown goby and a rippled (green) clown goby, both of them crack me up. The rippled is in a 5.5g on his own, he'll rush up to the front whenever I come near, begging for a snack. The ycg is in my 30g and is one of the most agressive cg's I've ever seen. I used to have a maroon (I agree, 30g isn't enough to contain their *ahem* personality) and the ycg harassed her endlessly. There's a baby ocellaris in the tank now and the ycg hasn't taken too kindly to the new addition; he seems to resent competition when it comes to the corals, he wants to own them all. Anyone standing between him and one of his perches gets a good talking to :D
