internal parasites? loosing fish

Loosing over 1000 dollars worth of fish in a 200 gallon.
Everything is balanced in the tank.
sharks have been in there for years happy.
Fish symptoms include heavy breathing through mouth, gills are flared, and they wont eat. within 24 hours they die.

please help

Heavy breathing of often a sign of an external parasite which has attached the gills .. not an internal parasite.

Have you added any new fish lately? What fish are affected? How is the tank stocked?

Do you have GFI strips, could be faulty equipment leaking small amts of electricity, or a heater could go wrong and be to high. Or your water flow may be blocked and there's not enough oxygen. My initial thoughts. But sure it could be a parasite, anything in this hobby is possible. I had internal parasites in FW fish before that were nearly impossible to rid of.

Do you have any white feces strings (translucent with white parts or just one long white string) at a time coming from any fish? I have it and lost one of two clowns so far. tried a lot of different meds such as prazipro and metro+ no luck so far.
