International Marine Aquarium Conference

I was just looking into the latest information on IMAC. Base on what I learned and my past experiences with IMAC, I can confidently recommend this event to any hobbyist. www.theimac.org

IMAC is a terrific weekend program in Chicago that is within easy driving distance of St. Louis. Other SEASL members and I have been going since it started. It is an excellent way to become a better hobbyist, meet the real pros in the industry, see the latest and greatest equipment and talk to the manufactures, have a lot of fun with friends, and yes there are plenty of corals for sale too.

The latest news I’ve heard is that:
1. There will be two IMACs this year. One in Chicago June 1, 2 and 3 and another in Las Vegas August 10, 11 and 12 at the Riviera Hotel and Casino. And, if you sign up for both conferences, you get $100 off.
2. Even though the registration rate is now up to $149, they are offering a special for club members of $100. You have to go to their Program Advertising page and scroll way down to the bottom to find it.

Maybe we can car pool it this year to save on gas and parking. Who’s going?

Yes Jim, we are offering these specials for reef club members.

And it applies to both IMAC - Chicago and IMAC - Las Vegas.

Hope to see you there.

I've loved every IMAC and MACNA that I've gone to. (Well MACNA-Boston had some serious issues. )

I'm not registered for IMAC yet because I'm in a raffle for two free tickets and the raffle doesn't take place until March 1st.

If you've never gone to IMAC before, I would highly recommend that you try to go.

Wife and I are booked for Vegas! Anyone else?
If so, get your return flight booked soon. Flights out of Vegas, at least on Soutwest, on Sundays are a little tough to get.

I just saw this posted for IMAC:

For the Chicago IMAC, they have already sold out all the booths in the Exhibit Hall, Martin Moe will be the Banquet speaker, and Eric Borneman and Anthony Calfo (who visited SEASL in St. Louis in 2005 & 2006) will put on coral fragging demos in addition to their regular presentations.

Check it out!

Early registration price drop for club members.

Early registration price drop for club members.

Hold the presses. I also found this: If you belong to a reef club, registration just dropped from $100 to $90. A regular weekend registration is $149. But, that price is only available through March 15. That’s only a few days from now. Also, you have to know how to get it. You don’t go to the regular registration page. You go to the Program Advertising page and scroll all the way down to the bottom. There you will find the special section for reef club members to register.

I unfortunately didn't win the ticket raffle but I was able to snag the club member discounted tickets.

Who else is going to Chicago?
