Internet access...

So I have my new Apex setup...can access it from anywhere on my home network.

Can someone walk me through what I need to do for internet access...should I use the XML stuff it came with to build a page of some sort...or just figure out how to forward port 80 and allow remote access?

TIA!

What router are you using? In your router, port forward your Apex IP address to port 80. The IP that youve been using to access the apex in the network is the one youll be using (you can find it in setup, net setup, IP address).

Go to ipchicken.com to get your IP, type that into your web browser and it should prompt you with username and password.

you can look at this to guide you:

http://reeftech.webs.com/ the manual Alan has provided has helped me out. Go to page 12 of the PDF file

Trendnet 652BRP...I see the Access->Virtual Server setup...what type of server do I want...and I should use port 80 and the IP for the apex unit?

Thanks again!

Well it took a little fiddling to get an IP and a port that worked, but thanks to your suggestions and "the guide" I have it working...now I just need to run that cat5 cable downstairs and actually put this thing on the tank, LOL!

Thanks again!
