I am going to get my first clowns tonorrow. I was wondering can i get a black one and a orange one and put them in the tank together? Will they get along? and how do u keep them from breeding?

Black one what, and an orange one what?

If you are referring to a Black and White Ocellaris

And an "normal" orange Ocellaris, they are both the same species, just different color morphs.

I didnt know they were the same. im new to this. Will they be fine if they r the same species but differnt color? Can u mix species in one tank?

They should be fine together -- assuming that you end up with 1 male and 1 female. The risks of pairing them up would be the same as pairing up the same color morphs of the same species.

I personally would stick to just one species per tank, and only one pair at that.

Thanks for the heads up. I want as little problems as possible. Is there a way to stop them from breeding?

Not really, nature will take its course. Though I suppose if you keep changing things that might delay any spawning, but that would also add undo stress to them.

Why wouldn't you want them to spawn? If you aren't planning on raising the fry (( many of us don't bother )), it won't harm anything to let them spawn.

What do i do with the fry?

Long story short -- remove them to a separate tank, and feed them food that you have to raise (( rotifers )) yourself. And make sure that there is a high enough concentration of "rots" in the rearing tank for the fry to fed them easily.

Lets just say if it was easy more people would be doing it.
