Fish?
I have a large Brittle Star currently residing in my tank. Today I added a cleaner shrimp.

I didn't even entertain the notion that it may be eaten be the Brittle.

Is this a possibility? Or will the Brittle leave it alone.

stupid stupid stupid

I have a med-lg brittle star (maybe 8-10" across) in a 37 with a cleaner, blood, and pistol and no probs for 6months+.

I don't keep[ one but took a look at Schimek's ,"Marine Invertebrates". Several briitle stars are listed and all but one are considered reef safe beneficial scavengers. Ophiarachna incrassata, (green brittle star/ aka green death) is noted as a voracious predator that grows to about 20 inches and will eat fish shrimp and crabs.

I have a huge green brittle star about 10 inches across, 3 cleaner shrimp and a large chocolate chip star in my 168 FOWLR and they all get along. The chocolate chip and the mushrooms that are in there are another story though lol

I don't have the Green one. I have the yellow variety.

Good to hear. Thank you for the comments. I will now go back to searching for my new cleaner shrimp who is hopefully hiding in the rocks and not in my brittle star's belly.
