iPhone App

The single connection is not a bug. The aquacontroller only allows 1 telnet connection at a time, and this app uses telnet to connect and so does Aquanotes on the PC.

So zigzag, are we looking at Feed, multiple PX probes, graph load times, and Power Failed for the next version? Do you have a paypal? I would gladly send over a few bucks for this app.

I am not sure if this is an issue for anybody else but I had a small problem arise.

I turned on my frag tank light Saturday morning with a "manual on" to take a quick look. When I left I put it back on "Auto", but I must have clicked the home button on my iphone too soon. When I got home Monday morning my frag tank lights were still on.

I now know to wait a while after a change, and the longer my logs are the longer I wait. If it is possible to put a spinning wait symbol next to the device name until the change is complete it might be a good safety enhancement.

Great app. Thanks.

iPhone AN to PC AN3 connection possible?

iPhone AN to PC AN3 connection possible?

Since you can open only 1 telnet connection to the ACP3 From Aqua Notes. If I have an Aqua Notes PC application, can I have the AquaNotes iPhone connect to the desktop application for data recovery instead of the AC3Pro? (basically daisy chaining the applications?)

Ok, I'm not having any luck connecting with my iphone.

I have an AC3, Linksys WRT160N, AT&T DSL service with a static ip address, and a dyndns.org account.

I have enabled DDNS access in the router, forwarded ports in Applications & Gaming and still can't get access.

I have given the AC3 an ip address of 192.168.0.50 with a port of 8080. I then went into the router and forwarded port 80 to 1080, port 1080 to 1080, and port 23 to 1080 all with the ip address of 192.168.0.50. Still no luck.

I can not access it by xxxx.dyndns.org:1080 or xxxx.dyndns.org but I can access it, on my home computer, at 192.168.0.50:1080

I have checked www.canyouseeme.org and port 23 and 1080 both time out.

Any help or ideas?

Port 23 goes to 23 not 1080.

Also, was that a typo? You say you set your AC3 to 8080 but then why are you port-forwarding to 1080?

BTW, Posting the same problem in two threads is not good practice. After posting my reply above I saw another discussion in a different thread on the same topic.

I tried to seperate the issues to keep the iphone problem on this thread and the network problem on the other.

Woohoo - I finally got my phone, and downloaded the app.

And got stuck, of course. I need a little help, please.

The URL I use in a browser to connect is:

Then I enter a username and password.

On the phone, I tried a couple of different methods, like:

username
password

and

Port 8079
username
passwrod

I'm wondering if I need that trailing backslash? I also tried to leave the Port blank:

username
password

but the Port filled in 23 anyway, even when I tried to cancel it out.

What would you suggest?

Do you use firewall?? Do you have router?
Can you connect from your local network using iPhone?

Yes, I have a router, and the AC3 is connected via Cat5 cabling from itself to the router.

That URL I posted above will let me see the AC3 in my browser, turn things on and off and see the graphs.

I don't know the answer to your last question, unfortunately. I think it is connected, but all I see on my screen under Status is:

Conditions
Other

and nothing else.

And under Devices:

Blank screen.

If I wait about a minute, I get an error and it says it is closing the connection.

Marc,

Something's off. It looks like you mapped port 80 of your AC3 to 8079. This is good for accessing your AC3 on your browser.

Now, you also need to map port 23 on your router to say 8023. This is for the iPhone app. Once you do this, you can now connect as:

Port: 8023
username
password

Using the same IP address, I created a new port forwarding to 8023, but it didn't work. :( It says AquaController connection failed, so I know it isn't an authentication (user/pw) problem.

Marc, something's blocking the connection. I'm getting a connection refused error. Can you try mapping it to 10023 and try again? Also, what router are you using? It looks like there is a built in firewall blocking port 8023.

I got to take a peek at beba's connection (via some PM help), so I know the app works fine. Not that I doubted it, but sometimes it is nice to rule out unknown variables.

I have a Netgear router. I just changed it to 10023.

Edit: Nope. Do either of you have Skype? Maybe we can work on this that way?

As far as I can tell, the IP for the AC3 is xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
