Its a port forwarding issue for sure. what ports do I have to forward to get iphone access? I was accessing it with 4567, and the ac3 port was left at 80. I know I also have to use port 23. Exactly what ports do I have to forward where?
ok I am lost... I can access my AC3 over the internet with my noip.com acocunt
I can't figure out how to get it on the iphone app.
I have cable internet with a Dlink DIR-615 router and a dlink DWL-G820 wireless gaming adapter.
I can't figure out how to forward anything! I know my AC3's IP address, and know on the internet I can get to it by putting in http://xxxxxish.zapto.org:8080
here is what the screen looks like for port forwarding:
Originally posted by NoCarrier You need to forward port 23 as well. The iPhone app accesses the AC3 on port 23.
Thanks for the info! Any idea if this is the screen I would port forward from and if so any idea what I should put in what boxes? Sorry I am really bad at networks
I can't seem to get any actual information from the app so I am thinking I am connecting to something like maybe the wireless gaming adapter or something? I have no idea. If I use port 23 instead of 8080 I just get a timeout error
so if I use this login info:
it will let me on this screen without giving me the "cannot connect" error:
Looks like you didn't forward port 23 in your router. Forward 23 to, say, 8023, similar to how you forwarded 80 to 8080. On your iphone, connect via 8023.
I have no idea how it was forwarded from 80 to 8080 (friend did it) here is everything in the "port forwarding" section of my router
the first entry has been there since my friend came over and setup my AC3 for me...the second one is me trying to get 23 to 8023....What am I doing wrong!!
Ok, I'm not familiar with your router so I had to look up the manual online.
First, what you need to do is on the Port Forwarding page, uncheck all the boxes at the left and hit Save Changes. We won't be using the Port Forwarding page since it does not allow you to map a local port to a different port via the internet.
What you need to do is configure "Virtual Server" -- that's the first menu on the left, above "Port Forwarding." Configure it like this:
I've also tried "both" under protocol instead of "TCP" and it still gives me nothing. When it is on both the number under it changes from 6 to 257 and if you change it back to 6 it changes back to TCP
also if I connect my iphone via my home network I can enter the info like this to get connected...and it works!
