iPhone App

blk94rs,

The iPhone app loads the data log file as soon as you connect. As the log file grows larger it takes longer to load. It won't display the graphs until all of the logs are loaded, and it also won't pass on/off commands until they are loaded. You can clear the logs by clicking on the trash can icon on the graph page (supposedly) or by just pulling the plug on your AC3 and plugging it back in.

Thanks!

How often do you guys have your AC3 data log? I have mine set up to do it every 15 minutes. Is that too often?

I did forward the port incorrectly, had it forwarded to 80. As soon as I changed it to 23 it worked fine.

Thanks for the help, and the application

I may have misunderstood, but from what I gathered from ZigZag is that the new version of the iPhone app has already been submitted to Apple and he was just waiting on their approval. Is that the case zigzag? If not, cool with me :D I am just getting anxious, hehe... I can't wait to see the new features and the ability to use the web interface instead of the telnet.

Gotcha! Thanks for the update zigzag!!! Do you know when you will be submitting it? Or are we "waiting for the new firmware"?

If you can't comment, I understand :D

Just got the beta of the new AC3 firmware. I think I now know why the app has not been submitted.

New feature of the new firmware:

Enhanced support for Aquanotes iPhone App :D

I just got my cat 5 installed yesterday and tried to get the network up and running with my ac3. Ran into issue with iphone on 3g.

I set a static ip on one of my laptop to 192.168.1.50, added aquanotes to my firewall exception list, forward port 8080 and 8023 in my lynxsys wrt45g. Logged on to aquanotes and iphone with wifi and everything works.

I also setup an account on dyndns with hostname myac3.dontexist.org and pointed that to my static ip of x.x.1.50

However, when I turned off the wifi on iphone and use 3g, I cannot log onto my ac3. Any suggestion.

Thanks
Anthony

I would think you are correct herozero. Mine stopped working when I updated my firmware also. It looks as if the labels and commands are slightly different on the new firmware.

Now that the beta is out, and I think it is fairly stable, I bet we will see the official firmware release and the iphone app fairly soon.

Running Aqua Notes

Running Aqua Notes

I have browsed through this thread and did not see anything on this subject. Can you access your AC3 with the Aqua Notes App and still run the Aqua notes software at the same time?

Apparently yes. Because the iPhone uses Port 23, and your computer accesses it through a different port. Originally, I thought you couldn't do that.

WillPer, you are using terms that may have some ambiguity to them...

You cannot use the iPhone App and the AquaNotes at the same time.

You can use either simultaneously with web browsing into the ACiii built-in web server.

What you are saying is that you cannot have Neptune Systems AquaNotes software running on your computer so that you can get email alarms and at the same time, access your AC3 with the iphone AquaNotes App.
I hope I got that right.

willper,

Yes that is correct. Not until the new OS os installed (It's in Beta Now) and the new iPhone app is released (It's been submitted like 2 weeks ago and I've been waiting for!

Will the AquaNotes work in conjunction with the iPhone app.

So when the new Firmware is installed (or you can try the beta) and the new iPhone app is finally posted in the AppStore, you will be able to run AquaNotes on your desktop (collecting important graphs, alarms etc,) and havethe iPhone app access the AC3Pro at the same time!

I had a post about this exact issue a while back... And I've been waiting for this day since the AN software is really imporant to me!

Now if you care about Alarms only, you can have the AC3Pro send those to you if you want via email etc... You do not need AquaNotes for these, although it's a lot easier there!

I found this thread 2 days ago and it’s AMASING. However, since then, I am trying to set it up and still, no-go. My settings are as in the forum. Host is static IP. User and password are able to log into the AC3 (in Wi-Fi, and the web). I turn off the firewall in the router.
I forward port 8080 to port 23, and port 8080 to port 123. (My AC3 port)
, and port 23 to port 123
I also have port 80 to port 123 My set up in the iphone:
Host : xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx (My static IP)
Port : 8080
User : xxx
Pass: xxx
And still â€"œno go - Can someone give me a direction? I am desperate
Thanks
