iPhone

You would have to pay me to get the AT&T phone :D .. I thought you already bought one Andy :) ..

No, not yet. Steve Job had all-hands meeting on Thursday, and promised to give all US based employees a 8gb iPhone at the end of July. And my boss will let me have it as the xmas gift :D anyway, we went to Valley Fair yesterday, it was quite interesting. All hype!!!

My roommate orderd one on Friday. It was like $899 after dock, charger and bluetooth. Should be here in 2-4 weeks they said.

I'll wait for generation 2 or 3. I'm a HUGE apple/mac fan. Been so since college. But after they destroyed me on my first ipod purchase (gen1, 10 gig for $369+tax!!!!!!) I'll wait for next models......

For now, it's a blackberry 8800 for me :D

If anyone does have one, I'd love to see some pics :D

If I'm not mistaken there is one or two years warranty on the hardware...One could also purchase an icare...:) .
Got to gamble sometimes...just like reefing!;)

Bebo77,

I agree it does cost a lot but I got lucky..my better half bought it for me...

Sweet. I also saw those in the elos forum :D

Nice tank BTW!

Jim

Thanks Jim...Got busy doing prep work for my new tank.
I'm glad I went with elos tank....quality is simply superior!!!
And Jesse's customer service is amazing!

Don't mean to Jack this thread...if I offended someone, I apologize in advance.

the only reason why im holding back from this phone is that i hear the internet is really slow. and it doesnt even support instant messaging. i might just get the blackberry curve...

Personally, I like the look and the video/photo features on the iPhone. My feeling is that the next generation of iPod video will be similiar to iPhone. Once Apple enhance all those cool video features to the iPod, their stock will rock, imo.

My Boss just gave me a demo of his new iPhone. It is more beautiful in person. Of course it's all wi-fi on the campus here so it's wicked fast to websurf. I totally want one now but won't get it; just dropped a bunch on a Canon Rebel Xti. I'd post a few pictures from my tank if I could find a coral worth taking a picture of.

I think I'll wait till the next gen comes out.. I'm hearing more and more people having issues with them, plus wifey wants new phones .... heheheh

Take some shot of your Xenia.. They are beautiful :) ..

The iphone is actually not expensive for what you get. Think of the 8 gig ipod feature. If you bought that seperate it would cost you $250. That makes the remainder of the phone $350. Most smart phones nowadays cost that or more. I paid about $500 for my Treo when I got it. The service isn't expensive either. The low end is $60 and the next step is $80. That ends up costing you less than other comparable services for smart phones from AT&T. One of the biggest problems with the iphone is the fact that you can only use it with AT&T for the next 5 years (unless someone finds a cool hack that fixes that issue). The runner up for problems in my mind is the lack of an external storage device. They should have put an SD slot. Why be limited to 8 gigs?

So Apple can charge you for a 16 gig iPhone down the road. :D

I want to know if the hard drive die, can it be replaced? Does the phone work if the hard drive die? I know the hard drive in the Ipod can't be replaced. If it dies you have one expensive paper weight :D ..
