I got a blue linkia from a friend of mine the other day. he is doing fine and cruises all over my tank. I know that they are considered 'reef safe', but i saw him on one of my corals and wanted to make sure that it wont damage any of my corals. Are blue linkias ok to have in a reef tank?

i have had one for a year and hes very fat. its in a 135 with alot of live rock

This is the trick to keeping one alive,100g or more,& lots of LR to graze on.

Most of them die fairly quickly, within a year or a year and a half. Their diet is unknown, as stated. I might be willing to try one in a 300g system or so.

I have a 125 gallon, so i am hoping it has enough room to roam. I thought that they feed on algae and are considered to be part of "clean up crews" Is this a common myth?

That's a myth. Their diet is unknown, and is more likely to be microbial films. I wouldn't try one in that tank.

are they one of the species that release toxins when they die? or is that cucumbers? aside from it dying, are there any major concerns of keeping it?

I think I have it Orange sister. Have had it for about 6 months and 90% of the time it on the glass. My LFS told me when it dies it turns white
