Is there any thing that can be done to regain the zooxanthellae in a BTA?

Give adequate lighting. Other than that, there is evidence that certain corals and anemones can absorb zooxanthellae from the water column, so if your specimen is totally devoid of zooxanthellae, perhaps having it in a tank with other conspecifics may help.

Oh really Kevin? I never knew that. Do you have any articles on that? I think that would be interesting to read. And no I am not doubting you. I believe you...I just want to read up about it. lol.

Not sure if I read it, heard it in a seminar at one of the conferences, or got it in personal conversations with Ron Shimek or Eric Borneman. Basically larval studies of different cnidarians showed some planulae had zooxanthellae within a short time of release or fertilization, while others (different species) showed no evidence of zoox (indicating that these species must ingest/absorb their zoox from the water column).

I seem to remember that it was postulated that brooded planulae were more likely to be "infected" with zoox (by the brooding parent) than broadcast-spawned planulae, but can't check (since I can't remember where the info came from).

The little blue pill is for memory, right? :)

Here is mine when I got it. Is this a different variant or the same? (Or am I starting another debate?) :)

Just probably a different color morph. There are tons of color morphs out there. Your bulb spectrum could also have something to do with it.

IMO you just have a different color morph. Looks very similar to mine (before I sold them all) Here is in older pic.
I would like to note when I sold off all my old rock I found a couple tiny clones that were under the rocks, they all looked like the "hot pink" ones posted else where in this thread -- because they were bleached.
