lil auto store ,super glue future glue

Jim just brought this home and it said it contains :ethyl cyanacrylate?

Safe or no?

I haven't used it on corals yet but if you have a Hobby Lobby by you the super glue gel is really cheap.

Pretty sure Krazy Glue Gel and Super Glue Gel are both ethyl 2-cyanacrylate.

Your best bet is buying the stuff they sell at the LFS (its the gel). Its $7 bucks, but the tube is huge and lasts forever. Much bigger tube than the stuff you buy at Home Depot, Valu, etc. But you should be safe using it. However, its not as good as the gel. The gel works much better for gluing to rocks. Good luck using the other stuff unless you have two perfectly flat surfaces. I've used the gel and the regular thin/watery stuff, the gel is way better.

I tend to notice the IC gel holds very well for a while. doesnt get all brittle. but its difficult to work with underwater.

the loctite brand... sticks well underwater... but becomes brittle over time.

anyway, all the superglues should be reefsafe (that are "cyanoacrylate")... regardless of it being liquid or gel. ive used both in my tanks, and nothing has died because of it.

I don't know if this is the same as the DAP product that I bought at my LFS, but I hated it. It did NOT work as well as the LocTite Gel IMHO, and after a single use, the opening of the tube hardened up. So, now I have a most full tube of superglue that I can't get out of the tube.

Stick with the LocTite Gel, available at any Home Depot, IMHO.

I always used bSi gel. Dan's crafts and Things has it for the best price (under $6 I think). This is what is looks like:

However, if it's ethyl cyanacrylate you'll be fine. It's all super glue. Gel is just easier to work with.
