is apex controller worth it?

Nope, no regrets and if mine died I would immediately replace it!

+1 Anyone that is really serious about keeping a reeftank for an extended period of time should have a good controller. Too many things go wrong that makes life miserable for us without eliminating a bunch at one time with an Apex. I will say that most people do not need the full version. I have the lite and run 3 EB8s and 2 tanks off of it. Big peace of mind.

I'd say it depends on what you need out of a controller. You can survive just fine with a basic controller. But if you want all the bells and whistles then apex it is.

Agreed, I love the control over most aspects of tank. I like controlling from my phone or tablet when I need to clean the skimmer or one or the reactors. I like being able to keep an eye on what my tank parameters are when I'm away from home. And it lets me know when the power is out by me not being able to access it online. Keeps the lights, monitors and makes adjustment for ph and a few other levels. Temp control is a breeze now. Pump control and powerhead control. Like being able to have the water flow, light conditions auto adjust during the day to mix it up for the live stock. Like the auto reset after power outage. Like that it is Wi-Fi enabled. Like that as they add more abilities that it is upgradeable and mostly plug-n-play. Like that I can expand to control more items with EB8's and other modules. Love apexfusion. The apex forum is fantastic wealth of help and information. The customer service is great.

I don't know how I ever ran a reef tank without one. Out of all the parts and tanks I have bought and sold I never even think of selling the apex.

Not to mention having the automation too detect water on the floor to turn off pumps and so on out weights any cons

sold! I got mine in last week and am in the process of programming it.. I created a new thread for help with programming
