Is it a bad idea to keep a Bimac in a dual/split 40 gallon?

My brother has for sale a tank that is two twenty gallon tall tanks connected by a tube. Would this tank be ok for a Bimac?

I think it would be very cool. I have often thought about doing the very same thing. What size tube connects the tank?

The tube is about five/six inches long and four/five inches across.
