Is it dying?

so i got this one mushie like a month ago for like 2bucks.

it initially found a nice spot, stuck itself down, inflated and looked happy.

then last week it started acting weird. it stood up really tall by extending its "stalk". it then inflated this stock real fat, and kinda coned its surface like an satelite disk.

now its edges are all ragged, not from other stuff, its just lost its shape, seemes to be thinner, and its stalk is like real big and fat.

WTH?

at first i thought it was like splitting or something, now i have no clue

any ideas?

probably fine. i've seen mine do a lot of weird stuff too, and never had a mushroom die.

Shrooms can be weird like that. Is it in a very low light area? Sometimes they will stretch upward towards the light if it is really dark.

Anything picking at it, I had a emerals crab that had a taste for shrooms. (HAD being the key word)

I have a yuma that does this occasionally - when it stretches out it looks liek its base is shaped like feet and its going to get up and start walking around.. then it settles back.

Reminds me of stretching after waking up then going back to being cozy. Unless you see the color change significantly toward a faded color or brown stuff i wouldn't worry
