Calling out one is a start... Someone needs to call them all out now. Even if its just one by one.
agree, now I found some local people even offer zoa frags more expensive than some LFS. I know zoas they offer are rare and have great looks but it's still quite shock after one day I bought a small colony of people eater at lfs with 2-polys price offered by a local folk.

No body is saying that the polyps cost to much to pay for, they are telling people that polyps are cheap, and people are getting taken by the insane prices these days.

This makes no sense, if this is an educational thread, why not talk about reasonable sources for livestock. Trading, propogating and sharing help a ton. To gripe and not offer a solution is complaining or whining, call it what you want

thanks for your opinion, this thread will continue to be out there to inform people and especially newer folks that these prices out there is NOT the norm and don't be conditioned to accept that fact.
Pay for those high / ridiculous prices if you want but threads like these will continue to pop up to inform those there these prices are over inflated and not be caught up in this hype name game that has now become prevalent in this hobby.

Thats one reason why I love clubs. You get to meet so many different folks in person and talk instead of typing. I have given away or sold cheap many "high" end things to people in my club and they do the same. Heck I bet thats why some local stores have closed because of this. If a member crashed his/her tank we are all there to help and offer free frags. The hobby is not dead. We are just on the internet so it is not as personal and you get all kinds of folks on here coming in and out with some trolls. I still love you all :bounce3:.

ok, some of you know me some of you don't, i do not believe in the $50 a polyp and higher price's.i think the most i ever sold a zoa for was a 15-18 polyps of darth mauls for a $100 plus gave him 3 more diff morphs of supposed higher end zoa's. funny part is i had gotten a ton of pm's asking me to frag it up and always told you could triple your money. didnt care about that as i know they are known melters and someone got a mini colony as some call themand he can cut the beauty up, not me. i am not against the name's, it makes it easier to go by a single name, some of the sponsors here, even after being told the name want to name and market it as their own. which what ever, Even more so for me about the price's is the fake picture's alot of our vendors take, running 20k lighting or leds or all ati blue + then photo shopping the pic on top of it or taking it in raw mode then playing with the colors. i mean in all honesty and i have had alottttt of different morphs over the years, 99% of the pic's out there is not what you see in your tank, i mean how many of us are able to put our eye 1/2 inch from the coral to seem some of the odd markings in alot of these.

just kinda browsed through but did see a comment where someone was talking about how wammin watermelons and eagle eyes looked about the same but different prices. i ordered both online from same place at same time guess what THEY ARE THE SAME!!!!!! lol or atleast in my tank so paid a higer price for the same cheaper frag. prices are getting a bit crazy on everything. i dont go crazy on these 100pp zoas/palys but some do and can jusify it but i cant but i will say if i like it i will buy it but not to turn a profit its just because i like em and want them in my tank
I agree, many are the same polyp, just under different lighting and/or different parameters and conditions which will often alter the appearance of the oral disc.

There are tons of morphs that are all the same polyps. Just go look at Zoaid! I think its actually quite comical to see vendors and reefers alike selling the same polyps under different names/different lighting to make more cash.
