Is it possible DSB is the reason behind Stn/Rtn?

Not trying to open a can of worm among DSB's supporters. I know quite a few local reefers that had Stn/Rtn and every single one of them has a sand bed. Is this a coincidence or I got something cooking here guys? Maybe all the nutrients get trapped in the sand and once they reach critical level corals begin to suffer?

been running bare bottom with no regrets, tank is super clean and my filter socks never get clogged. system is perfect.

I have a 6" dsb in my 300 Sps dominate running on 3 years now and I've never experienced a rtn. We need more info regarding your tank. What's the current chem params? Lighting? Equip? Husbandry? Did you change anything? Unfortunately lots of things can cause rtn/STN.

and how about those with sand that dont get RTN or STN ?

Perhaps in due time they will once that critical level is reached? Not trying to say my theory is factual and supported by scientific data or what not. Just throwing it out there to see if anyone felt the same way since no one knows for sure what is the culprit. Heck I could be wrong and I hope I am. Just too weird to see all of the tanks from fellow reefers that I've seen (Including mine...Knock on woods) that are BB never had such problem.

@Touring I have a 90 BB and the water is crystal clear and the fish look as if they're floating in mid air. What micron filter socks are you running. Mine get clogged every 5-7 days.
