Is it possible my problems with LPS over the years has been...too much flow?

You know, I was doing some reading today and I've read threads of people using a pair of RW-15s at like 50% power on much larger tanks...

I've been running mine on different settings off an on over the years very high. 80-100% in addition to my returns which are probably around 500gph.

I wonder if this is what has just murdered a lot of the LPS I have tried and all the polyp extension issues I've faced..

So now I've turned the pumps down to levels I would have considered way to low. I have a jbwave and I'm running ramp mode 0%min and 25% max.

The LPS seem much happier, I really had no idea my hammer was so large. It doesn't seem like it will do much for detritus settling though.

Is this too low?

Is it possible to run waves? Waves should help with moving water up and down the system to your overflow.

I have LPS dominant system. It took me various positions and setting to dial in my flow.

I use spin streams on my return so that cuts the flow from my return, but gives me varied flow. I run 2 SW-4 at various settings (40,50 & 60%) on 45gal system thru out the day and have waves kicking in every hours for 10 mins. So this helps with detritus suspension. Just a thought.
