Is it possible to have too much flow for a ritteri?

I placed it on a perch directly below under a 250W DE bulb and where there is very high random flow. The flow comes from a 4Way OM with 2400gph pump, 2 sea swirl returns with 2100pgh pump, and 2 maxi1200 modded pumps.

There is a lot of movement in the tank the the tenticles and body of the anemone gets pushed left to right.

Is that too much? He moved right to the overflow box where there is some flow but not as strong. Although I prefer him not to be there.

Get the anemone away from your overflow ASAP and make sure it can't get near it again. Ever.
Get water flowing above and around the mag anemone- not directly at it. Anemones will move if they don't like their surroundings. Something is not right.

why should it not be near the overflow? There is no way for him to get into it since I have a mesh around it that goes 1.5" above the water surface.

The flow is coming from all over and not directly on the anemone. The nearest water outlet was about 2.5 feet away and was out of a 1" pipe. Maybe it was still too strong.

I did a 30gal water change just in case. The SPS in the tank and other anemones and corals are doing well.

Just in case if your anemone does decide to creep up the overflow blox it can still get sucked in it. All it takes is part of the foot of the anemone to get caught up in the mesh and get damaged...that could seriously injure your anemone most likey ending up in a fatality.

Its just a precaution that you should take.

If a ritteri gets severely stressed (by such a thing as getting sucked against an overflow screen) it can possibly kill all the fishes in your aquarium by releasing toxins, nemotocysts or possibly a combination thereof.

My Ritteri gets blasted fairly good with flow from my Dart in my 120g. How deep is your tank and is it near the bottom? When I upgraded to my 120 (24" deep) I had to up grade my 250w to a 400w as it started moving around and just didn't look as good as it did before.

My ritteri stays right in front of one of the eight outlets from my dart pump. If the flow stops, he goes on the move.

How much flow do Heteractis Malu need? Do they need as much as a Ritteri or a little bit less.
