Is it safe to use Hydrogen Peroxide to kill the Hair Algae on my Acan Frags?

This great info. I just picked some live rock with zoas and other coral including frog spawn and some carpet anemones. The rock is heavy with green hair algae. Before introducing it to the tank, I want to kill the algae.

Will the peroxide damage the nems, frog spawn, tube worm, riccordia and the like ?
THANKS for any help

Well, I've done it. Peroxide dip. I'll wait a few days and let you know exactly what I did and how it worked.

i'm an avid scuba dive and dove some great reefs in the world and all of them have macro algae and GHA along with hundreds of typs of red algae.

A fact that many people don't know about.

I tried chaeto along with GFO and that didnt help.

Just was lack of photosynthesis for the chaeto. Display algae can have strong photosynthesis. The stronger one wins.

I can see H2O2 great for spot cases like when you buy a coral/rock and put it in, and the rock was loaded with phosphate; the H2O2 can hold off the algae outbreak long enough for the tank's filtering to remove the phosphate from that rock before the algae takes over that coral.

i hav used h2o2 for a few years for dips
zoas usuly can handel 3% with no nead to dilute up to 5 min

acans lobo blasto and most favietta 3oz h202 to 5oz tank water up to 2 min

bushy acros 1oz h202 to 3oz tw up to 2 min watch for bubbles stuck in the mucus blow off after a few min after the coral is back in the tank

smooth skin acros and monti 1oz h202 to 10+oz tw 20 or 30 seconds blow off bubbles in the mucus as soon as they form

h202 kills single celled organisms but wont work on multi celled algae browning can be a problem with sps but as long as you dont over treat most will recover with time

Some one actually paid attention. That is exactly what I was looking for. THANKS

I got a lot of livestock form a tank that was closing down. It was all pretty well infested with green hair algae. Following mixed advice, I decided to try peroxide. I mixed 2 1/2 gallons of clean salt water with 16 oz of 3% h2o2. I dipped for apx 20 seconds while I pulled off what algae I could.
Two days later all of the algae is dead and the zoas are fine.
I did not dip the kenya tree, frog spawn, anemones or mushroom coral. I did hit the bases as much as seemed safe.

There may be other ways to do this but dipping worked for me.

I have done the dip, 50/50 I usually try to cut as much off first then dip for up to 30 secs. Most will come off within 24 hours or so. Always do your research before dipping various corals, not all can do this method.

Soaked some zoa frags in a 50/50 solution with 3 %. Have done this a lot. Well forgot about them. They soaked for 30 mins and all died. Lesson learned. Lesson shared.

Hair algae. Since I put in a ATS it only grows in a few spots. Right by zoos is where it likes to go. I still do 50/50 just a lot quicker. Also I have used this on my meaty corals and even a plate coral. All are doing great. Only loss was my fault.

Why did you do it for so long? (30 Minutes)

Others have said that they have good results in like 1 to 6 minutes.

I am getting that hair algae on my zoa's so when people say 10:1 ratio and other numbers can yall be more specific. Like 3 cups of tank water to 1 cup peroxide or whatever the ratio needs to be. I don't want to over do it or under do it. Would like to know what the exact numbers are needed.
