Hello,
Red Sea Regals were mainly collected in Saudi.
Now Saudi is closed.
Most of the Red Sea collection is coming from Yemen, and the variety is much smaller than Saudi.
He does ship Regals from time to time, but 1-2 per shipment and usualy without.
Just for refference, the Saudi guys could have shipped 50-60pcs of small to medium fish without a problem.

There are Indian ocean collectors who are dealing with Red Sea fish from the same Yemen source and put their own Regals to the Red Sea list.

Im in no way saying that this is the case with your fish down under.

Yawn. Call me when the C. paucifasciatus and wild A. bicinctus get listed :D

I've seen these fish in person. They are yellow bellied regals and they came in with sohals and purple tangs and a few others. Stunning looking fish, however the exact location of collection i cant remember as i was busy staring at the pretty fish:hmm3:

I've seen them labeled 'yellow belly regals' with indian ocean origin. what vili shark says above actually makes a lot of sense. ive seen these myself in the past couple months and they are quite beautiful, but not as yellow as their red sea cousins. there are even some juveniles coming in now, which never was the case with the red sea variety. .02

I personally don't think red sea yellow bellies are any brighter than the other yellow bellies I've seen in the past few years.

Purely from a local perspective, the blue belly ones are usually in very good condition and eating. OTOH these have been trans shipped and IMO are a more risky purchase (in many ways), compared to those on a 3 hour flight from Vanuatu.

That said, I can understand the attraction to the yellow bellied ones, too.:wavehand:
