After my recent move my tank went through a pretty large cycle. My clam has remained opened about 1.5" but has not fluctuated either in closing or opening further in 3 days. You can still see the mantle and it has retained it's colors. Can it retain it's colors and be dead??
Thanks.

I didn't realize how bad it looked till I took this picture. Is it still alive??

yeah, I know..it's "brother" didn't make it..since my tank is so small(20) I really don't want to keep it in there if it is dead.

Don't wanna throw it out if it isn't..

I would leave it alone and see. Mantle extension doesn't look good but it isn't bleached. I can't tell if it is gaping or not (incurrent siphon open very wide).

Keep your system stable and let nature take its course.

Good luck!!

well, what I meant to say is that it's no longer around..I really thought it was dead..it didn't even move when pulled out of the water and it smelled about as bad as a dead anemone.

The tank did have a bit of a spike because of the move and I'm sure that was the reason for the clam(s) being ill.Fortunately, everything else did fine.I don't remember the levels..thanks,though.
