Is my Clam dying?

It looks like my clam is ripping down the center....does that mean its dying?just a couple months ago it was spawning n now this....is there anything I should do?

Losing a clam sucks so I resisted suggesting a clambake.

FWIW I've seen derasa and squamosa make unbelievable recoveries from torn mantles.

One of the ones you got from me? Would either be derasa or crocea if it was. Give it a little time.

Looks good to me. The first one may ave a little pinched mantle but hard to tell from the pic

Same here. Looks healthy. Calms are bivalves they have an inhalent aperture and an exhalent aperture also called the ISO( incurrent siphon orifice) and ESO ,(ex current siphon orifice). You can find some images in this article:
