Some of the mantle, (I thank is what you call it) has come lose from the shell. It has come lose on the mouth side. I took this picture but it is not that good.
is it going to be ok? what should I do?

still cant really see anything. something could have touched it and made it retract its mantle. make sure nothing can touch it and see what it looks like tomorrow

you must have a bowfront ( or i've had to many already ), can you take a picture straight down on the clam with all the pumps off?

yes it is a bowfront, and It will be my last!
I will try to take a picture when it looks like this again. right now it looks ok.

The brown stuff is kenya trees that are coming back. I cut them of the rock last month before I got the clam. do you thank they can be releasing some chemical? they are only 1/2 tall.

live stock
yellow tang
blue tang
3 clowns
2 serpent stars
snails

What kind of snails? If they are tongan snails they are carnivorous and will sometimes leech onto clams.

to be honest i don't know but if you look at the pics again, you will see that it is the area closest to the coral that is retracting. my crocea reacted like this when my anemone grew large enough to touch the edge of his mantle.

if he isn't attached to the bottom it would be easy enough to move the clam further away and see what happens.

these guys can be a problem, not always but you should keep an eye on them. ( i have a purple that makes me cringe when he uses my clams as pylons in his obstacle course :worried2: )

i have loads of tongan nassarius and a couple tongan fighting conchs. i think you are confusing tongan nassarius snails with whelks, which are a clam predator.

Here is a picture that I took today.

The clam looks good fully open, but does not look right when it is partly closed.
