Was posting on a different forum and someone said my gbta looks bleached and referred me here. Got him about a week ago. 40B , 2 kessil 160we, running a 10 hr photo period with max intensity at 60%. The color he is now , is the color when I bought it. LFS tank was also running kessils. There was 4 other GBTA's in the same tank and all were the same color.

Well crap. How should I proceed? Like I said , he's been in my tank about a week now and my lighting has stayed the same. I'm not sure what program the LFS was running on there lights. How do I know if I need to up the intensity or not? I know things don't happen over night, but if I assume the lighting wasnt up to par (pun intended), on the LFS tank, how long do I wait to adjust mine. I don't wanna max it out and end up frying corals, but I also don't want to leave it if it's not enough where it is now. Should I wait a week or 2 and adjust from there?

it could have been up to par in the lfs tank. shipment can be very stressful its quite likely it was bleached from shipment stress. give it some time imo observe if it gets worse then go to make some corrective action

Thanks. Will do. This is my first bta, and since all of them in the tank I bought it from where the same color I just assumed that's what it should be. I actually liked it cause its kind of a fluorescent green. It moved once in my tank, and has been in that spot for a week. Retracts a couple hours a day when the blue lights kick in which I read is normal (expelling waste), and then pops right back out so I've assumed it was doing great. If it wasn't for that guy in the other thread (which I had originally posted a question about a mushroom and the bta just happened to be in the same pic), I would have never known. I'll update in the coming days to see where its at.

Give it a few weeks to settle in. My rock flower looked like total crap for almost a month.
