Is my torch okay?

I just picked up this torch today. Place him on the substrate with a decent amount of flow. After a few hours I noticed some of the skeleton starting to show (lower right in the picture). This is my first euphyllia try, so forgive me if I'm overacting.

My water parameters
Alk: 10.8
Cal: 420
Mag: 1250 (aiming for 1300+ slowing dosing each day to increase)
Sg 1.024
Temp 78

How deep is your tank? I ask this because usually torches like the middle of the tank so if you have a shallow tank then it should be fine on the substrate if it's deeper then you should move it up. But other then that I honestly don't see anything wrong with your parameters and my hammer does the same once in a whole and it's fine

Thanks for the quick reply. My tank is 18 inches deep with a 2inch SB. I currently have the blues on now...think I should move it up?

What kind of lights do you have? But either way, I'd probably move it up about 5-8 inches give or take a few inches of course, but if it seems to be doing fine then moving it might not be necessary

Mine lives on the bottom about 20" below the LED's and it routinely shrinks and swells by a massive amount. It seems like it deflates to be able to take on new water and flush itself. Make sure you don't have too much flow, IME that is more important than the height.

I checked on it this morning before I left for work, and it seemed better. Hopefully that is the case when the lights are on later this evening.
I am expecting a t5 set up in the mail this afternoon (ati 4x39) in addition to marineland LEDs.
Thanks for all the feedback- I'll have an update later in the day.

only 28 it will be fine at the bottom but it probably was new to them before purchasing and that is very common in shipping for any euphillias to receed a bit from stress in the bag
